Top Ten Posters Of The Year 2001

Since it is the end of the last official calender week of "The," we conclude the year in SC/The in terms of post rankings. Next week will be the first top ten posters of the week, for 2002, December 27th-Jan 5. Hey, this is just how it works for the computer rankings. So it has come to this. We celebrate the year that was in SC/The, and though it is a team effort, we tip our hats to the individuals who stood out. Thus, the Top Ten posters of the year, 2001:

10. Blondiebabe- made the top ten despite much spamming, worthless posts, and pics that made me curl up in the fetal position and weep back in SC. She kept many a desperate pussy-seeker on the board, which is enough itself to draw her in the top ten. But it was more than that for Blondiebabe/Cinder. She stood pretty fukkin strong even while being the center of one of the most controversial off-the-board scandals in SC. Her subjects and her own self drew a slew of quality posts, and her presence was and still is a huge part of us. I still believe Jim Rome himself is trolling as her.

9. itsanalias- one of the more meticulous and dangerously accurate posters ever. All year long, he appealed to many different types of clones and trolls, and was able to provide humorous insight to a variety of subjects. Pretty much everyone agrees that this guy is one of the universal clones on the board.

8. bobinsorryexcuseny- though we never see his ass anymore, his contributions on SC III were enough to land him in the top ten, though his ranking slipped as he became distant when "The" came of age. He had some interesting and innovative story posts and could switch from laugh out loud banter to seriousness with seemingly effortless ease. Dude was quality barnone.

7. REBDOG- I can't say enough good things about REBDOG. He's one of the few who rolled with the changes and could start quality subjects, make his voice heard in his responses, and could spark a controversy if he wanted. One of the most underrated posters in the year 2001, and he will always be linked to the day that we all changed (see archive).

6. The 80's Man- arrived in January, pissed many off, then kicked it into drive with an array of posts that kept everyone on their heels and provided provocative thought into the world of everyone's favorite hard-luck, resilient clone, John Anthony Peters. You were annoyed, you cheered me on in my various pursuits, yet somehow found me sympathetic. It's been a great ride with you, friends.

5. Smackie Chan- There are certain people who, upon seeing their nic, their avatar, or simply a post by them, you feel relaxed and appreciative of them. Smackie was one of the few posters who at least appeared to always be in a good mood. One of the more optimistic posters in SC/The, a quality that cannot be disregarded. That and he is consistent and can bring a boring board back to life any day, as he does here without much recognition. I raise my bottle of Beck's to you, Smackie.

4. The Big Pickle- He became an instant classic the night he got shit-faced and posted his picture. Then he provided a charge of sensitivity and negativity. The Big Pickle, troll or not, is a contradiction. He lashes out at different races and people, yet shows a calm compassion for human nature and listens to people and actually accepts others' arguments. Thus, he is not just an annoying one-track minded troll who pisses everyone off and runs away. He rarely melts down, and somehow stands strong. Hard to really hate this dude. Trying to justify whether the means meet the ends with him is part of his legacy.

3. IRIE LAGOS- He posted way too much? Maybe. But it was not quiet. Was his act tired? Some may argue this too. But he was accepting of different types of people, such as he echoing of WDUNN'S "Everything Happens For A Reason" cry. He is known as the Yoda of our board, and trust me, we need one. He was and still is a nurturing voice for us clones, and we should be forever grateful. A Beck's for you, IRIE.

2. Filthy McNastie- Who knows what kind of immaculate trolling he is initiating every day? But that is besides the point. We all longed for his posts on SC, and still again in "The," though they are less frequent, and he is a mod. One day when I was fukking around with the computer ratings, I tried putting the threads he started in by themselves. The quality points rating came out to be asinine compared to other peoples.

1. Python- on New Year's Eve, let's all have about 6 beers in honor of him. Looks like enough sharp and quality one-liners, getting racked 10 times a day, and providing some surprisingly classic topics will yield a great reward. I was a bit alarmed to see his name at the top of this list when it came out, but thinking back, it really shouldn't be that unfathomable.
